SHOES OF PEACE
Michele HG
Hi, my name is Karla Kinlicheenie. I am Navajo from Arizona and live in Ponca City, OK. I am an army veteran of 17 years of service and have had my share of deployment to the Middle East of 5 Tours. After I got out of the military I learned how to bead with trials and errors on my own, no one showed me how to bead and what supplies to use....as years went by I have improved in my beadworks and learned how to make different styles and create my own style with what supplies I have. Every creation is sewn with love and prayers, I always pray with my creations and give it thanks to that it helps me to make more for people to enjoy. Beadwork is a form of therapy for me and it helps me to just wind down from everything. It has and still is helping me thru PTSD, so beading is a way to connect with my creative side and let it overpower PTSD so I don't stray away from what helps me. That is just a little history of my creativity. Thank you for your help and I will continue to pray for you!!
